DENVER, COLO- The Yellow Jackets got to 18 wins today, which broke the single season program record for wins. They were able to sweep Regis with a come from behind wins in both games.
Laci Peskey got it done on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, getting the win in game three and then hitting a three-run homer in game four. Pauwels also added a homer.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 3
• After
Laci Peskey got out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the second, BHSU got right to work in the top of the third when
Tyler Whitlock reached on an error.
Alyssa Wong and
Desi Hernandez each hit singles that scored Whitlock and gave BHSU the early 1-0 lead.
• In the top of the fourth, Maley walked to leadoff the frame. With Adrianna Fitch pinch running for her,
Carly Reyes Mims hit a single, which allowed Fitch to go to second and advance to third on a throwing error. Peskey hit a sacrifice fly to score Fitch and BHSU held a 2-0 lead.
• In the bottom of the fifth, Isabella Porter led off the inning with a single, and Peskey struck out the next two batters. Porter stole second and Mya Chacon singled to get her to third. Olivia Wick then sent a deep home run to left field to give Regis the 3-2 lead.
• Reyes Mims led off the top of the sixth with a single and Caitlyn Potts took over as the pitcher. Peskey reached on an error by the second baseman that sent the ball into center field and she was able to make it all the way to third and Reyes Mims was able to score, which tied the game at three. Whitlock hit an infield single and advanced to second on a groundout by Wong. Peskey scored on a Hernandez sacrifice fly to make it 4-3 and after two straight walks,
Lily Simmons was able to hit a short single to score Whitlock and give BHSU a 5-3 lead.
• After no runs were scored in the next two frames, Regis took the field with one last chance to win. Mia Moore tried to bunt but was thrown out in a very close play at first, and then Ariana Ybarra popped out. Chacon singled and Wick walked, which brought up Abby Larsen. Peskey threw a ball into the dirt, which Hernandez skillfully blocked. Chacon seemed to think the ball got through and tried to run to third, but Hernandez easily threw her out and that ended the game, which gave BHSU their D2 record 15th RMAC win, and tied their program record for 17 wins in a season.

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 2
• Once again, BHSU started the scoring early, with two outs in the first inning, Hernandez walked.
Ashlynn Pauwels singled her to third, then
Taylor Dowden walked to lead the bases. Simmons walked in Hernandez to give BHSU an early 1-0 lead after one.
• Regis answered back in the bottom of the second when Bella Bordine hit a double to leadoff the inning. Morgan Norris grounded out but advanced the runner to third. With two outs, Ybarra singled in Bordine and stole second, she then reached third on an error that allowed Jessica Isbell to reach first. Isbell also stole second and then Lima Magana hit a two-RBI single to give Regis a 3-1 lead. Chacon singled Magana to third and stole second, before Mia Moore reached on a fielder's choice, but Chacon was tagged out in a run down, but not before Magana reached home to give Regis a 4-1 lead heading into the third inning.
• BHSU blew it open in third inning, when Wong and Hernandez each singled to start the inning. Pauwels reached first on an error that scored Wong, and it was 4-2. Simmons reached on a fielder's choice that scored Hernandez and brought the score to 4-3. Maley also reached on an error by the third baseman and Reyes Mims hit a bases clearing two-RBI double to give BHSU the lead at 5-4. Peskey walked and Whitlock hit a two-RBI triple to give BHSU a 7-4 lead. Wong singled to score Whitlock and made it 8-4. Hernandez singled too to get Wong to third, before Pauwels hit a deep three run homer to center field to give BHSU an 11-4 lead heading into the bottom of the third.

Paige Goodell struck out two in a quick bottom of the third. BHSU started the fourth with a Simmons walk and a Maley single to get her to third. Then it was Peskey, who hit her first career home run to add three runs to BHSU's lead, which made it 14-4 heading into the bottom half. Goodell allowed three straight singles to start the bottom of the fourth and score Ybarra making it 14-5.
Malaya Coleman replaced Goodell and allowed a single to load the bases. She then induced a line out and a sacrifice fly that cut BHSU's lead to eight at 14-6, before getting Bordine to ground out to end the inning.
• BHSU scored none in the fifth, which sent in to a game-winning opportunity for the Yellow Jackets, who only needed to allow no runs to end the game in a run rule. Coleman allowed a leadoff single to Norris, before striking out the next batter. Hernandez caught strike three and threw it to second to catch Norris stealing for a double play. Ybarra grounded out to end the game and give BHSU the program record for wins in a single season.
