Aiden O'Leary who did so at the Doug Max Invitational. O'Leary clocked a time of 52.80 to secure the NCAA standard and move into second on the Yellow Jacket All-Time Performance List. Additionally,
Mason Sartain re-broke his school record in the 100m dash, which he set just last month, running to a time of 10.71 in the event on Saturday at the Jack Christiansen Track.
HOW IT HAPPENED – MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
- Re-breaking his own school record set just a few weeks ago, Mason Sartain posted a new career-best time of 10.71 in the 100m dash to finish seventh in the event, besting 12 NCAA Division I runners in the process. Ashley Williams also competed in the event, finishing 17th and besting three NCAA Division I runners with a time of 11.25 on the day.
- Leading a trio of sprinters in the 200m dash, Jace Johnson ran to a time of 22.22 for 13th place while Sartain followed close behind in 14th as he clocked a 22.30. The pair crossed the finish line ahead of six NCAA Division I athletes. Rounding out the Green & Gold in the event was Williams who posted a career-best time of 23.36 for 20th place ahead of two NCAA Division I runners.
- The lone Yellow Jacket in the 400m dash was Johnson who ran to a career-best time of 49.44 for eighth place and ahead of four NCAA Division I athletes.
- The duo of Aiden O'Leary and Flynn Johnston once again showed why they are among the top 400m hurdlers in program history, clocking career-best times of 52.80 and 54.04 respectively for third and fourth place. The times move O'Leary into second on the Yellow Jacket All-Time Performance List with the NCAA Provisional time while Johnston remains sixth in BHSU history. The pair clocked faster times than six NCAA Division I runners.
- Competing in the pole vault, Shane Karajanis turned in an eighth place finish as he cleared 4.25m (13' 11.25"). He finished ahead of three NCAA Division I athletes.
- Ryan Baker led the way in the discus throw with a mark of 46.51m (152' 7") for 11th place, and Logan Class added a career-best mark of 43.91m (144' 1") for 14th place. Baker bested nine NCAA Division I athletes while Class topped eight NCAA Division I throwers in the event.
- Baker also notched a 15th place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.23m (148' 5"). He bested a pair of NCAA Division I throwers who were unable to record a mark in the event.
HOW IT HAPPENED – WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
- Competing in the 5,000m run, Sierra Hopp notched a time of 19:30.20 for eighth place in the event as she raced against seven other NCAA Division I athletes, including besting two who were unable to finish.
- Continuing competition in her freshman season, Cassidy Goddard recorded a throw of 39.73m (130' 4") for an 11th place finish against nine NCAA Division I throwers, including finishing ahead of one.
- Posting a sixth place finish in the javelin throw with a mark of 34.49m (113' 2") was Alivia Weathers as she competed against three NCAA Division I athletes, including finishing ahead of one.
