SPEARFISH, S.D. – On Monday afternoon head women's triathlon coach Katie Christy announced her first signee as leader of the program as Hannah Longmire will join the Yellow Jackets this fall.
 
A native of Coralville, Iowa, Longmire was a 7-time state champion in track & swimming during her time at Iowa City West High School for head coaches Mike Parker (track) and Byron Butler (swimming). She capped her prep career by winning her third state title in the pool in the fall of 2024, claiming the gold in the 100-meter para along with swimming to the silver in the 50-meter para. During the spring of 2024 as a junior, she became a 4-time state champion on the famed "Blue Oval" of Drake Stadium, winning IGHSAU state titles in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, and 800-meter dash para ambulatory events, helping the Trojans claim the state para track championship. Her second career state swimming championship came in the 100-meter para in the fall of 2022, while finishing runner-up in the 50-meter para. Just one year prior she began her prep career in swimming by clinching the IGHSAU 50-meter para state title and a state runner-up finish in the 100-meter para championship race. Additionally, Longmire has seen success on the national stage as a member of the U23 Para Development Team for Team USA and Elite Athlete Dare2tri. She was a national champion for paratriathlon PTS3 in 2023 and 2024 and was a third place finisher for PTS3 at the 2024 America's Cup in Miami, Florida. Hannah is the daughter of Mack and Lee Longmire, and has seven siblings, Sarah, Mary, Rebekah, Jake, Luke, Philip, and Thad.
