VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Sending athletes to the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships for the first time since 2019, the Black Hills State University men's program left the Virginia Beach Sports Center with some hardware and a pair of All-American finishes.
Drew Lehman recorded a podium finish in his first nationals' appearance, earning First Team All-American honors with an eighth place finish in the triple jump, while
Evan Smith posted a 13
th place finish and earned Second Team All-American in the 800m run.

HOW IT HAPPENED – MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
- Running in the fastest of three heats in the prelims of the 800m run on Friday, Evan Smith ran to a time of 1:50.20 for sixth place in his heat and 13th place overall. The 13th place finish gave Smith Second Team All-American honors in the event.
- Capturing First Team All-American honors in the triple jump on Saturday, Drew Lehman recording a mark of 15.07m (49' 5.5") for an eighth place finish. After a scratch on his first attempt, he recorded the mark on his third jump. He jumped 48' or better on four of his six attempts at the meet.

The Black Hills State men's and women's track & field teams will begin their outdoor schedule this upcoming weekend when they travel to Chadron, Nebraska, for the Chadron State "Con Marshall" Early Bird on Friday, March 20.
