Growing up on a farm in Northwest Nebraska, Zac Alcorn drove 35 miles to attend Chadron High School. At Chadron HS, Alcorn was a three sport athlete competing as an All-State basketball and football player, and also throwing discus in track. After high school he continued on his football career at Chadron State College. Alcorn redshirted his freshman year and in the next season caught 16 passes for 208 yards and one touchdown for the Eagles.
In the 2002 pre-season, Alcorn fell to injury and left CSC. He transferred to Black Hills State, a small NAIA school in South Dakota. At BHS Alcorn shined catching 85 passes for 1,220 yards and 12 touchdowns during his two seasons. He was named to the Dakota Athletic Conference First Team and an NAIA First Team All-American. He attended the DakotaDome pro day, and was looked at by multiple NFL teams. The Green Bay Packers showed the most interest.
Alcorn signed on a free agent deal with the Packers in 2006. In his rookie season, Alcorn played in six games seeing the most action on special teams. Playing with NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre and current Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Alcorn was part of the 2 percent of NFL players to come from an NAIA school.
With his short time with the Packers, Alcorn went to the San Francisco 49ers, then on to Kansas City. He then signed to Seattle. Unfortunately a back injury cut his season short, and was shortly released by the Seahawks.
