Black Hills State University Athletics

Ben Lewien enters his third season with the Yellow Jackets as the linebackers’ coach.

Lewien comes to Black Hills State after spending 13 years at Fairview High School.  He was the defensive coordinator for his last five years there.

While at Fairview, Lewien coached the team to two undefeated regular seasons in 2009 and 2014.  He helped coach Fairview to at Colorado State Runner-Up finish in 2013.

Lewien graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in history.  Lewien played for one year with the University of Colorado as a linebacker.
