Evan Eastburn enters his fourth season as Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach for the Yellow Jackets.

Prior to joining the BHSU staff in February of 2015, Eastburn spent the 2014 season at Coe College in Cedar Rapids Iowa as Run Game Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach. He spent 2012-2013 at Southwest Minnesota State University as Running Backs Coach.

Under Coach Eastburn's leadership, BHSU's offense has reached new heights, averaging over 400 yards and 26 points per game over the past two seasons, in route to the two winningest seasons since joining Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in 2012.  In that time, Coach Eastburn's offense has had seven games with over 500 yards off offense, including a high of 632 in 2017 against New Mexico Highlands University, wherein junior quarterback, Ryan Hommel, accounted for 438 yards through the air.  In 2017, the BHSU offense finished second in the RMAC in Passing Yards Per Game, which included five contests in which Hommel threw for over 400 yards.

While the BHSU passing attack has flourished under Coach Eastburn, the BHSU running game has re-written the record book. 2017 senior Running Back Phydell Paris graduates with the school single game, single season, and career rushing records firmly in his grasp, resulting from three straight seasons with over 1,000 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns.

BHSU's offensive achievements have been well recognized at both the conference and national levels. Over the past two years, nine offensive starters for BHSU have been named to All-RMAC teams, including 2016 first team selections for Paris and wide receiver Shandon Jones. Following the 2016 season, Eastburn was one of just three NCAA Division-II coaches named to 30 UNDER 30 List by the American Football Coaches Association, which "identifies rising stars" throughout all levels of coaching profession.

Prior to coming to BHSU, Eastburn spent two seasons as Running Backs Coach at Southwest Minnesota State University. While there, three running backs were named all-conference. In 2013, SMSU put together a record-breaking season, setting 13 single-season team records, and playing a postseason game for the first time since 1990. SMSU running back Tyler Tonderum set a school record with 2,145 yards rushing—ranking second in Division II—and became the first player in program history to be named a national finalist for the Harlon Hill Award, which is given to the top player in Division II. In 2012, Eastburn helped oversee an offense that set a school record with 23 rushing touchdowns, while rushing for 1,888 yards, the second highest total in program history.

Before entering the college ranks, Eastburn spent three seasons coaching at the high school level at Fairview and Pomona High School, in his home state of Colorado. In 2009, and again in 2011, Eastburn help lead his teams to the 5A state semi-finals.

Eastburn, who lives in Spearfish with his wife Becky, is a 2010 graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in political science. He obtained his master's degree in sport leadership at SMSU. Eastburn played on the offensive line for two seasons at the University of Maryland before transferring to Colorado where he finished his playing career.
