Ben Jasinski

Ben Jasinski is in his second season working with the jumps withthe Black Hills State track and field Staff.

A native of Rapid City, S.D., Jasinski was a standoutstudent-athlete at South Dakota State University where he posted 24individual victories and set the school record in the high jump andheptathlon. Jasinski set the Jackrabbit record in the high jumpwith a leap of 7 feet, 1 inch during his 2011 campaign and set theheptathlon record with 5429 points.

He is a two-time Summit League claiming the 2009 and 2011outdoor title.

Jasinski earned his bachelor’s degree in electricalengineering from SDSU in 2011. He then moved on to the Universityof South Dakota where he received his master’s degree inphysics.

While at USD, Jasinski was a two-year volunteer assistant withthe Coyote track and field program where he coached Megan Glisar toa sixth-place finish at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Championship with aleap of 6-0 to garner All-America honors.

Jasinski is currently pursuing his PhD in Physics through theUniversity of South Dakota. He is married to AshleyJasinski.
