Biography

2010-2011

Rantapaa competed in all six tournaments during her sophomore season at Black Hills State. Rantapaa helped lead the Yellow Jackets to five top three team finishes. Rantapaa shot a season low 84 during both the Minot State Invitational and the S.D. School of Mines Invitational at which she finished in 7th and 2nd place respectively.

2009-2010

Rantapaa jumped out to a quick start to begin her career for the Yellow Jackets. Rantapaa finished with an individual 6th place standing in the Dakota Athletic Conference after only scoring in five of the six tournaments. Rantapaa earned DAC All-Conference honors as a true freshman and helped lead the team to a 2nd place overall finish in the DAC.

High School

Janessa Rantapaa was a stand-out golfer for the Lead-Deadwood Gold Diggers earning six varsity letters in golf. Rantapaa helped lead the Diggers to five state A championship titles. Some of her personal achievements are: Seaton Award, most improved varsity player, coaches putting award, and All-Conference.
 

Personal Life:
Janessa Rantapaa is  a junior at Black Hills State majoring in elementary education and special education. Rantapaa is the daughter of Rocky and Margie Rantapaa of Lead, SD where her father is a car salesman and her mother is the business manager for the school district and has one brother Matt (23). When Rantapaa is not on the course she enjoys hunting, fishing and camping, her favorite food is puppy chow.
