Matt Cahoon joined the Yellow Jackets in September of 2022 as Assistant Track and Field Coach.
Prior to BHSU, Cahoon competed at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. Where he competed in all track and field throwing events within the Southern Conference.
In his time there, he was a 6-time Southern Conference Men’s Most Outstanding Athlete, and 6-time Southern Conference Champion while training under Rod Tiffin, David Clyburn and Tom Pukstys.
He was also a 2-time Eastern Regional Qualifier in the javelin throw.
Cahoon received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Samford University in May 2022 and currently resides in Spearfish, S.D.
