Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University
men's basketball team overcame a slow start to defeat Montana
State-Northern 65-62 to in the Yellow Jackets' season opener
at the Donald E Young Center Friday.
“Our seniors led the way,” said head coach Bradd
Schafer. “We kept battling and working hard. There are
some things we need to clean up, but I'm proud of our effort
tonight.”
The Yellow Jackets were led by senior Luke Enos who put on an
offensive display, finishing the contest with 27 points, eight
rebounds, and one assist. Enos also shot 90% from the
charity stripe. Sophomore Tanner Adler added a spark for the
Yellow Jackets off the bench knocking down a three-point basket to
give the Yellow Jackets the lead for good. Adler finished the
contest with seven points.
Black Hills State returns to action Saturday, October 30 as they
take on Morningside in the final game of the Perkins Tip-Off
Classic. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. MT.
