Point Lookout, MO. – The Black Hills State University women's basketball team traveled to Point Lookout, MO. to square off against the College of the Ozarks. The Yellow Jacket dropped their season opener to NAIA #6 Ranked College of the Ozarks by a score of 66-54.
The Yellow Jackets struggled offensively; they shot 31% from the field, and only 10% from behind the arc. Black Hills State committed 25 turnovers and shot 63% from the charity stripe. The Yellow Jackets did out rebound the Bobcats, 44-42.
Black Hills State was led by senior Kristi Ryan who finished the contest with 12 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore Jordan Kent added 14 points and led the Yellow Jackets in Scoring. Freshman Dakota Barrie contributed eight points and hauled in six rebounds.
