Billings, Mont. – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team defeated the University of Great Falls by a score of 72-71 to improve to 4-5 on the season. The Yellow Jackets took the lead with nine seconds left on a two point shot by junior Tommy Earl.
The Yellow Jackets had a solid day offensively shooting 47% from the field, 56% from behind the arc, and 78% from the free throw line. Black Hills State had a four point lead heading into intermission; the Yellow Jackets committed 12 turnovers and stole the ball seven times.
Black Hills State had three players scored double digit points led by junior Tommy Earl who finished the contest 10-13 from the field, 3-4 from behind the arc, and 3-4 from the charity stripe. Earl finished the contest with 26 points. Freshmen Brady Bisgaard and Joey Mitchell who added 17 points and 10 points respectively to help the Yellow Jackets to the victory.
Black Hills State will return to action December 29 as they host Montana Tech in the opening day of the Perkins Classic, tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. MT.
