Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University Men's Basketball team was defeated by Dickinson State by a score of 66-71 at the Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish Friday evening. With the loss the Yellow Jackets move to 1-5 on the season.
The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a strong start in the first half shooting 52% from the field. Black Hills State led at the break 36-29. However, a big second half push by Dickinson would prove to be the difference maker in the end. The Blue Hawks out-scored the Yellow Jackets 42-30 in the second half as they were able to pick up the win in front of a large Black Hills State crowd.
Black Hills State was led by senior Rob Johnson who finished the contest with 18 total points and five rebounds. Johnson was followed in offensive output by guards Tommy Earl and Brady Bisgaard who added 12 and 10 points respectively.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action Saturday, December 3 as they host Rocky Mountain at the Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 pm and the game can be heard locally on 980 AM KDSJ or worldwide at KDSJ980.com.
