Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University Men's Basketball team was dropped another close game at home tonight against Dakota Wesleyan. The Yellow Jackets led by one at the half-way point but were unable to hold on to the lead in the second half as the Tigers pushed to a 60-66 victory.
The Yellow Jackets were able to hold off the Tigers in the first half despite shooting just 35% from the field compared to Wesleyan's 41% effort. The shooting woes continued for Black Hills State as they were outscored in the second half by seven points. The Yellow Jackets finished the evening shooting 33% from the field and just 21% from behind the arc.
Black Hills State senior Rob Johnson led the Yellow Jacket offensive as he dropped in 17 points to go alongside seven rebounds. Junior guard Tommy Earl and freshman guard Brody Brisk also finished in double figures with 14 and 10 points respectively.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action Friday, January 13 as they travel north to take on Dickinson State at the Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm MT and the game can be heard locally on 980 AM KDSJ or worldwide at KDSJ980.com.
