Spearfish, S.D. - The Black Hills State University men's basketball team defeated Minot State 91-74 in the semifinal round of the Dakota Athletic Conference tournament.
"It's nice to be able to have five guys in double-figures," said head coach Bradd Schafer. "The defensive effort we had tonight was outstanding and being able to out rebound them by 14 says a lot about our hustle. It was a total team effort and I'm proud of our guys."
The Yellow Jackets had five players score double-digit points led by senior Cain Atkinson who finished the contest with 23 points. Seniors Luke Enos and Will John Johnson scored 18 points and 13 points, respectively. Senior Spencer Childress and sophomore Tanner Adler each scored 10 points.
Black Hills State shot the ball extremely well in the game. The Yellow Jackets shot 50% from the field and from behind the three-point arc. The Yellow Jackets pulled down 43 rebounds to Minot State's 29. Black Hills State also blocked six shots.
