Point Lookout, Mo. – The No. 5 Black Hills State University men's basketball team defeated first round opponent Holy Names by a score of 85-62 at the NAIA Division II National Tournament on Wednesday.
"It was good to get this one under our belt," said head coach Bradd Schafer. "We were able to jump up early and we had a number of guys step up in this one."
The Yellow Jackets set the tone from the opening tip, starting the game with a 7-0 run which included a three-point field goal from senior guard Clay Pottorff and a rim rattling dunk by senior forward Luke Enos.
Black Hills State continued to pull away with four of players finishing in double-figures. Enos fueled the Yellow Jackets with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Enos scored 17 of his points in the second half. Pottorff added 17 points, shooting 5-of-6 from behind the arc. Senior Will John Johnson added 14 points to accompany his seven rebounds, while Tanner Adler added a scoring spark off of the bench with 12 points.
