Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University softball team lost two games to No. 22 Dickinson State on Wednesday afternoon by scores of 9-0 and 15-1.
In the first game, the Yellow Jackets struggled from the batter's box. Lenaya Vigil managed the only hit in the game for Black Hills State. Alex Huntington gave up nine runs on 11 hits. With the loss, her record fell to 2-4 on the season.
The Yellow Jackets did get on the scoreboard in the second game on a solo-homerun by Kelli Heiser in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Dickinson State bats proved to be too strong once again as the Blue Hawks scored 15 runs on 18 hits. Nikki Chacon was saddled with the loss and fell to 0-2 on the season as a starting pitcher.
The Yellow Jackets drop to 9-25 overall and 4-12 in the Dakota Atheltic Conference. Black Hills State will take on Valley City State in Valley City, N.D. on Saturday, April 30. The doubleheader will begin at 12 noon CT.
