Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University softball team dropped two games to Minot State on Saturday by scores of 6-1 and 6-5.
In the first game, Black Hills State found themselves in a pitcher's duel until the seventh inning. The Yellow Jackets gave up five runs in the top of the seventh and were unable to pull off any come-from-behind heroics. Black Hills State only had three hits in the game. Aleishia Giesey, Kelli Heiser and Regina Thaler each recorded a single hit in the contest.
The Yellow Jackets found themselves behind early in the second game as they gave up five runs in the first inning. Black Hills State had six hits and two errors in the game. Heiser and Thaler each finished two-of-three in the batter's box. Kyley Barela knocked in three runs for the Yellow Jackets.
Black Hills State will return to action on Sunday, April 10 for a doubleheader against Minot State. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT.
