Dickinson, N.D. – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team fell to Dickinson State by a score of 74-56 Friday evening in Dickinson.
The Yellow Jackets struggled in the first half, shooting 27% from the floor and were unable to get a shot to fall from behind the arc and fell behind the eagles 16-29 going into intermission. Black Hills State was able to get their offense going in the second half as they shot 50% from the floor and 25% from behind the arc.
Black Hills State was led by freshman Joey Mitchell who scored 17 points, 3 rebounds and one assist, Mitchell was the only Yellow Jacket to net double digit points. Senior Rob Johnson, junior Tommy Earl, and freshman Brody Brisk all scored eight points.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action Saturday, January 14 as they travel to Minot, N.D. to square off against the Minot State Beavers, tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. MT.
