Minot, N.D. – The Black Hills State University women's basketball team fell to Minot State on Saturday evening in Minot, N.D. by a score of 83-47 to fall to 4-9 on the season.
The Yellow Jackets struggled to get their offense going in the first half as they shot 18% from the floor and 22% from behind the arc, but went six-of-six from the free throw line, and took an 18-52 deficit into the locker room at halftime. Black Hills State was able to get some offense generated in the second half as they 48% from the floor and 44% from behind the arc, but they could not overcome the first half deficit.
Black Hills State was led by freshman Cassidy Kotelman who finished with 12 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Fellow freshman Bailey Kusser added eight points to the Yellow Jacket effort.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action Friday, January 20 as they travel to Madison, S.D. to take on Dakota State, tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. MT.
