Madison, S.D. – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team fell to the Dakota State Trojans by a score of 79-70 to fall to 4-10 on the season, this Friday evening in Madison, S.D.
The Yellow Jackets had a 33-32 advantage going into intermission but were unable to overcome a strong second half by the Trojans, as they outscored the Yellow Jackets 47-37 in the second half and shot 47% from the floor and 50% from behind the arc. Black Hills State shot 35% from the floor and made only 30% of their three point attempts.
The Yellow Jackets were led by senior stand-out Rob Johnson who finished with game with 29 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, two assists and a steal. Freshman Brody Brisk was the only other Black Hills State player to net double digit points, he finished the contest with 11 points. Junior Tommy Earl added eight points, freshman Joey Mitchell chipped in seven points, and junior Jordan Dolph netted six points.
Black Hills State will return to action as they travel to Sioux Falls tomorrow to square off against the University of Sioux Falls Cougars. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. MT and will be televised live on the Midco Sports Network for Midcontinent subscribers.
