Spearfish, S.D. – The Yellow Jacket men's basketball team added another tally to the win column tonight as they lengthened their win streak to three games. Black Hills State was too much for the visiting team to handle as they went head to head with Johnson & Wales University, outscoring the Wildcats by a final score of 87-63.

Black Hills State jumped out to an eight point lead at halftime through a 46% (15-32) shooting performance in the first half. The Yellow Jackets were able to build on the lead in the second half as they held Johnson & Wales to just 32 points in the second frame. The Yellow Jackets advance to an overall record of 6-11 on the season.

The Yellow Jackets had a total of six players finish in double figures. The scoring was evenly distributed as they team made the extra pass to find the open shooter on a consistent basis. Sophomore forward Cameron Anderson was the high scorer for Black Hills State with a total of 18 points. Anderson was also the team leader in rebounds as he pulled down eight on the evening. The Yellow Jackets also got three 15 point showings from Brady Bisgaard, Tommy Earl, and Joey Mitchell. The three guards were virtually everywhere as they flew around the arc and combined for eight three pointers. Senior forward Rob Johnson also added 11 points along with Brody Brisk who netted 10.

"We did a great job of spreading the ball out and finding the open shooter tonight," said head coach Bradd Schafer about the game. "Once again we combined for a total team effort and played unselfish basketball."

The Black Hills State men will return to action on Friday February 3 as they travel to Denver for a rematch against Johnson & Wales University. The Yellow Jackets will tip-off at 7:00 p.m. MT immediately following the women's game.
