Biegler Scores 21 in 51-52 Loss to Cougars

Spearfish, S.D. – Despite Chelsey Biegler's 21 points, Colorado Christian (5-2, 2-1 RMAC) squeaked past the Black Hills State women's basketball team (2-5, RMAC 1-2) 51-52 on Friday night.

"We guarded well. We had a few things not go our way down the stretch, but I thought we gave a great effort tonight," said head coach Mark Nore.

Biegler was 7-of-14 from the field including 2-of-4 from behind the arc and recorded six rebounds. Calli Bechtel was the second on the team in scoring with nine points and recorded a team-high nine rebounds.

The Yellow Jackets and Cougars were neck-in-neck for the majority of the first half with the game tied 20-20 with 5:42 remaining. Bechtel hit two 3-pointers and Biegler added one in the first four minutes of the second half to help bring the Yellow Jackets back within one, 29-30. Colorado Christian maintained a small lead, until a Biegler layup at 6:39 gave BHSU a 43-42 lead. The Yellow Jackets preserved the lead until Colorado Christian's BJ Moyes had a go-ahead layup with 10 seconds remaining to take the lead 51-52, and that's how the game would end.
