Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team fell the University of Sioux Falls in the second day of the NCAA Transitional Tournament by a score of 64-76.
The Yellow Jackets trailed the Cougars by a score of 33-32 going into halftime. Black Hills State struggled shooting the deep ball in the first half making only 25% (2-8) of their shots from behind the three point line. Black Hills State struggled shooting the ball from the floor in the second half making only 38% of their shots from the floor.
Black Hills State was led by senior Rob Johnson who finished the game with 18 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore Cameron Anderson and freshman Joey Mitchell each added 10 points for the Yellow Jackets. Anderson also pulled down seven rebounds. Rounding out the scoring for the Yellow Jackets were junior Tommy Earl with nine and freshman Brody Brisk with eight.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action at 1:00 p.m. MT as they play the Minot State Beavers in the Consolation Championship of the NCAA Transitional Tournament.
