Box Score Chadron, Neb. – The Black Hills State men's basketball team defeated the Eagles of Chadron State 77-61 in Chadron on Saturday Night.
The Yellow Jackets played a solid all-around game on Saturday, shooting 45.8 percent from the field during the game. As a team, Black Hills State shot 94 percent (16-17) from the free throw line. The Jackets out-rebounded the Eagles 36 to 24, while including 14 offensive rebounds. Black Hills State recorded 17 assists as a team and only committed 14 turnovers.
The first half was closely contested, with the two teams trading baskets in the early minutes of the game. Cameron Anderson scored nine points and four rebounds in the first. Brady Bisgaard scored seven, and Ryan Allen added six points in the opening period.
The second half was all Black Hills State. The Jackets came out of the locker room focused, going on a 19-5 run during the first seven minutes of the period. Black Hills State would never look back. After Chadron made a small run of their own, the Yellow Jackets answered. Black Hills State ended the game on a 20-9 run and won the game 77-61.
Anderson had an outstanding game for the Yellow Jackets. He scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the win. Anderson shot 78 percent from the field and 86 percent from the free throw line. Bisgaard scored 20 points, connecting on four of seven three-point attempts. He also dished out six assists during the game. Tanner Adler scored 17 points, and Allen scored 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds for Black Hills State.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action this weekend when they travel to New Mexico to face Western New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
