Spearfish, S.D. - A game full of back and forth scoring led to a 59-59 tie at the end of regulation which was followed by an overtime period that saw the Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets (5-15, 4-12 RMAC) fall by just three-points at Colorado Mesa University (15-5, 12-4 RMAC), 69-66.  

The Friday night game showed how close the Yellow Jackets are to getting over the hump this season as the newest member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference by giving the conference's third place team all they can handle on their home court Friday night.  

BHSU's starting line-up provided four double digit scorers with junior guard, Tanner Adler leading the way with 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting.  Sophomore guard, Brady Bisgaard had 15 points, junior forward, Cam Anderson had 13 points and seven rebounds, while sophomore guard, Joey Mitchell, had ten points and four rebounds.

CMU shot 43-percent on the night on 24-of-55 shooting while the Yellow Jackets were 24-of-62 from the field, good for 39-percent.  BHSU hit eight three-point shots compared to just four by CMU. The Mavericks had 11 more free throw attempts than BHSU, going 17-of-24 from the line.  The Jackets shot 77 percent from the stripe by going 10-of-13.

CMU's leading scorer was Colton Burgon with 17 points, while Jeff hart was 7-of-15 for 16 points.  

The Yellow Jackets lost their first meeting of the year to CMU by 14 points back on Dec. 1.  The progress that the BHSU team has made can be seen by their play tonight as they were a shot away from the victory. 

The Jackets will step back on the court  tomorrow night at Western State (8-12, 7-9 RMAC) for a 7:30 pm MT tip-off.
