Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The UC-Colorado Springs Mountain Lions used a 45-point second half to open up their 8-point halftime lead to beat the Yellow Jackets on Friday night, 81-52.
UCCS guard, Derrick White, had a game-high 29 points on 9-of-14 shooting (10-11 FT), three rebounds, and three assists. Dalton Patton and TreShawn Wilford combined for 24 points and 13 rebounds.
The only Yellow Jacket to score in double-figures was sophomore, Riley Ryan, who finished with 14 on 5-of-10 shooting, including four 3-pointers. Cameron Anderson led the Jackets with eight rebounds.
The second leading scorer for the Jackets off the bench was Yoshio Allen with nine points to go with seven rebounds on 19 minutes.
BHSU shot 29.5-percent on the night (18-56 FG) and went 5-of-24 from 3-point range and 11-of-27 (40.7%) as a team from the free-throw line.
UCCS also gained many second-chances from their advantage on the glass after out rebounding the Jackets 50 to 37. While the teams were even on the offensive glass, UCCS had 35 defensive rebounds to the Jackets' 21.
The next game for BHSU (7-9, 5-7 RMAC) will come tomorrow night, Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. as they travel to face CSU-Pueblo (9-7, 7-5 RMAC).
