DENVER, Colo. – The Yellow Jacket women's basketball team (10-8, 9-5 RMAC) lost Friday night, 81-75, on the road at the Regis University Rangers. After losing by two points at the half, the Rangers used a 47-point second half to secure the six-point victory.
BHSU junior, Chelsey Biegler, dropped 40 points on the night after going 15-of-26 from the field. Biegler made seven 3-point shots and had four steals, three rebounds, and three assists.
Biegler went for 25 points and four three-pointers in the second half alone.
The Yellow Jackets also looked to junior guard, Cassidy Kotelman, as she provided 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting with four assists. Redshirt freshman, Courtney Patterson, came off the bench to score nine points.
As a team, the Yellow Jackets out shot the Rangers while shooting almost 52-percent from the field (29-56 FG) and went 10-of-24 (41.7%) from 3-point range. Regis gained extra opportunities after outrebounding BHSU 38 to 27.
Only seven players saw time for Regis as they had four players score in double-figures. Guard Taelor Purdy led the way for her team after scoring 19 points. Baylee Purdy followed her sister's lead as she went for 14 points as teammate, Sarah Seefeldt, scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
