BHSU Men's Basketball Lose on the Road to Fort Lewis

Box Score

Spearfish, S.D. – The Yellow Jackets came out on fire in the first half vs. the Fort Lewis Skyhawks on Saturday evening in Durango, Colo., but they couldn't keep it going through the second half.  The Skyhawks were the eventual winners on the evening, beating BHSU 86-75.

In the first half of the game, the Yellow Jackets shot 70% from the field and 83% behind the arc and were able to take a two-point lead into the locker room at the half.  Tommy Earl scored 12 first half points and 22 total for the night.  Yoshio Allen pitched in 14 total points; he also had four rebounds and a block.  But the combination of a lackluster second half shooting effort, and the hot hands of Skyhawk players, Nick Tomsick (32 points) and Alex Herrara (22 points), proved too much for the BHSU men.

The Yellow Jackets drop to 5-6 overall and 3-5 in conference play while Fort Lewis improves to 8-3, 5-2.  Next up for the Jackets will be a home game against the Chadron State Eagles (5-7, 2-6) on Thursday, January 9th at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for Thursday night's game vs. Chadron will be $11 for adults and $6 for seniors and students, with the additional $1 going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
