Box Score GOLDEN, Colo. – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team got their first look at a ranked opponent this season, falling 76-49 at No. 19 Colorado School of Mines Saturday in Golden, Colorado.
The Yellow Jackets (3-7, 1-3 RMAC) opened the game with a 3-point basket off the hands of Wyatt Krogman. After a layup by Caleb Waitsman, Brady Bisgaard then hit a trey of his own for a 6-2 Yellow Jacket lead in the opening minutes.
Down 12-9 with 9:55 remaining in the first half, Ben Beauchamp sank a trey while getting knocked in his face. After the four-point play, the Green and Gold held a 13-12 lead.
The Orediggers (8-0, 4-0 RMAC)) reclaimed the lead on a layup from Garrett Loew and held a lead that varied between one and three points until holding a 23-20 lead with 4:34 remaining in the half. From there, the Orediggers flexed their power on a 17-2 run to close the half and a 37-22 lead.
The Yellow Jackets were led by Brody Brisk with 10 points. Brian Muller and Loew each scored 14 for the Orediggers.
The Yellow Jackets return to the Denver area on Friday night at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
