MBB: No. 19 MSU Denver Drops Yellow Jackets

DENVER – For the second-straight game the Black Hills State University men's basketball team faced a nationally ranked opponent falling 77-45 to Metropolitan State University of Denver Friday night in Denver, Colorado.

With the Roadrunners (8-2, 3-1 RMAC) holding a 10-6 lead with 15:31 to go in the first half, MSUD used a 10-2 run to stretch the lead to 20-8. Using the momentum, the home team entered halftime with a 40-20 lead.

MSU Denver kept the pressure on, proving their national ranking, with the 77-45 victory.

Myles Henry led the way for the Yellow Jackets (3-8, 1-4 RMAC) with 11 points. The Roadrunners shot 49.1 percent from the field and were led by Nicholas Kay with 26 points. Mitch McCarron also scored in double figures with 22 points.

Black Hills State concludes a four-game roadtrip, along with the final game of 2014, with a 5 p.m. contest at Regis University on Saturday.
