Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women fall at Colorado Mines, 66-40

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines took down the Yellow Jackets women's basketball team on Friday night by a score of 66-40, as CSM's Taylor Helbig came off the bench to lead the game with 20 points. 

The Yellow Jackets were held to just 19 points in the first half as CSM took a 12-point lead into halftime before winning the second half by 14 points to extend their lead in the final 10 minutes on way to victory. 

No Jackets scored in double figures on the night while three players – Chelsey Biegler, Courtney Patterson, Dakota Barrie – finished with nine points.  The three players combined for seven rebounds and five assists. 

Two more CSM players scored in double figures as forward Allie Grazulis went for 17 points (7-11 FG) and Laura Tyree scored 12. 

The Yellow Jackets went 15-of-44 (34.1-pct) from the field as a team and hauled down 27 rebounds (20 defense, 7 offense).  CSM finished the evening shooting 41.4-percent (24-58 FG) and gained a significant advantage in the rebounding department with 42 boards (27 defense, 15 offense). 

CSM finished with 16 assists while the Jackets had eight along with 23 turnovers. 

With the loss, the Jackets now move to 11-11 overall and 10-8 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Tomorrow night the Jackets will be squaring off versus Colorado Christian (11-10, 9-8 RMAC) at 5 p.m.
