Box Score SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team closed out its season in style Saturday night with a 79-65 victory over Chadron State College Saturday night in the Young Center.
In front 1,345 fans, Brady Bisgaard, Brody Brisk and Yoshio Allen each scored in double digits to lead the Green and Gold to the victory. Allen had a game-high 20 points while Bisgaard and Brisk each added 16. Nick Ongarato added 18 points while the Yellow Jacket Defense did not allow a single Chadron State player double-digit scoring.
After the Eagles led 3-2 with 18:45 remaining in the first half, it was all Yellow Jackets as Brisk and Ongarato sandwiched a pair of long-range baskets around a Christopher Smith jumper. Allen then hit a jumper followed by another Ongarato trey for a 15-5 lead.
The Yellow Jackets entered halftime with a 37-23 advantage. Black Hills State then held its largest lead of the game, 24 points, when Ongarato secured a layup for the 65-41 advantage. The run ended a 7-2 run for the Green and Gold.
First year head coach Jeff Trumbauer then pulled out each senior one-by-one as the crowd rose to a standing ovation in the closing seconds in the 79-65 victory.
The Yellow Jackets conclude the season with a 10-19 overall record and 8-14 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Chadron State falls to 7-19, 6-15 concluding its season as well. The 10 wins match the most for Black Hills State since joining NCAA Division II while the eight RMAC wins reach the same milestone.
Allen not only had a game-high 20 points but posted a game-best eight rebounds while Wyatt Krogman dished six assists, ending the season with a 4.0 assist per game average in RMAC play. Bisgaard had four assists while Tate Hilgenkamp added three as the Green and Gold had assists on 17 of its 27 made field goal attempts.
Black Hills State loses the three seniors while welcoming back 12 athletes for the 2015-16 campaign.
