MBB: Mountain Lions Too Much for Yellow Jackets

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team fell 93-66 Saturday to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Joe Cameron, seeing the most action he has all year, scored a career-best 16 points. 

The Mountain Lions shot a blazing-hot 71 percent (22-of-31) from the field in the first half to jump out to a 61-20 lead. The Yellow Jackets could not recover, as UCCS continued to shoot at a high rate throughout the game at 57.9 percent.

The Green and Gold placed just two in double-digit scoring with Cameron's 16 points and 14 from Riley Ryan. Cameron, playing in just his second game this season, shot 4-of-8 from the field, including 4-of-7 from long range. Meanwhile UCCS (11-9, 8-5 RMAC) placed four in double figures led by Alex Welsh's 22 points.

Black Hills State (9-8, 7-6 RMAC) travels to Denver, Colorado, next weekend, facing Colorado Christian on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by Colorado School of Mines on Saturday at 7 p.m.
