GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Black Hills State University soccer team fell 6-0 in its final game of the inaugural season to Colorado Mesa University.
The Mavericks didn't waste much time as they scored a quick goal in the third minute with a pass from Amanda Wenzel to Alexis Allard to boot it over the head of the defenders into the net to take a 1-0 lead. Two more goals followed in the seventh and 10
th minutes as CMU took a 3-0 lead and led at halftime 4-0.
Raven Johnson saw all the time in net as she registered a season high 15 saves in her final game of action of the season.
The Yellow Jackets finish the season 1-16 overall and 0-12 in conference action while the Mavericks improve to 9-6-2 on the season and 7-4-1 in conference play.
