SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University volleyball team closes out its season on Friday night, which is sponsored by Wolff's Plumbing and Heating, at the Young Center against the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with first serve set for 7 p.m.
UCCS enters Spearfish with a 10-6 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference record and a 15-9 overall record. Morgan Evans commands the offense with 1,037 assists and a 10.92 per set average. She ranks second in the conference. Alongside Evans, Alyssa Brinton leads the team in kills with 350 and a 3.68 kill per set average. Brinton ranks third in the conference for kills.
Natasha Habert leads the defense with 474 digs and a 4.99 per set average. Habert ranks fifth in the conference overall for digs. Lauren Brown works alongside Habert with 79 blocks and a 0.92 per set average. The Mountain Lions currently rank sixth in the conference.
Black Hills State return home with an 8-17 overall record and a 6-11 RMAC record.
Brynn Eckhardt, who is tied for first in the nation with triple-doubles, leads the offense with 651 assists and a 6.51 per set average.
Ellise Lech helps out on offense as she has registered 194 kills and paces the team with a 2.02 per set average. Eckhardt is behind Lech with 182 kills.
Lacy Stevens controls the defense with 539 digs and a 5.39 per set average. Stevens leads the conference for digs.
Cheyenne Palu assists on defense with 147 blocks and a 1.47 per set average. She leads the conference while
Fehrin Ward ranks third in the conference and has recorded 120 blocks with a 1.22 average per set.
The match will have live video and stats feed to allow Yellow Jacket fans to follow the team in their final match of the season.
