THE GAME - Colorado State - Pueblo

• Behind 19 points from Wyatt Krogman, Black Hills State dominated CSUP in last season's lone meeting in Pueblo, Colorado 82-62. 
• The ThunderWolves are currently 7-4 overall and currently riding a five-game win streak. In its last action, CSUP swept Colorado Mesa (85-75) and Western State (103-80). The lone RMAC loss was in overtime at Fort Lewis. 
• CSU-Pueblo earned a preseason pick of No. 7 and is led by six players scoring double-figure points. That is topped out by Mark Williams with 15.4 points per game. Will Newman averages 13.2 points with Nelson Kahler scoring 12.3 points per game. Three others averages between 10.4 and 10.9 points per contest. 

THE GAME - Colorado Christian

• A 12-0 run over the final four minutes carried CCU to a 66-61 victory over BHSU in the first meeting of the 2016-17 season on December 10. In the game Fraser Malcolm scored 18 points for BHSU while Dimitri Saliba led the way for CCU with 16 points. 
• The Cougars are currently on a three-game winning streak, which began with the Dec. 10 victory over BHSU. In their last action, the Cougars toppled UCCS 104-97 and MSU Denver 87-75. At UCCS Ty McGee tallied 35 points, a season best for the RMAC this year. 
• Colorado Christian earned a preseason ranking of No. 11 by the RMAC coaches but currently sit in a tie for second place with its 5-1 RMAC record. 
• Ty McGee leads the team with 19.8 points per game while Dimitri Saliba averages 17.3 pints and 15.5 points from Brett Brady.

WINLESS ON THE ROAD
Black Hills State is 0-4 in the 2016-17 season on the road and looks to turn that around with six of its next eight games on the road. BHSU started the 2014-15 campaign off with an 0-5 record in true away contests with another loss on a neutral court. The first victory on an opponents floor was December 20 at Regis when Myles Henry hit the game-winning basket with time expiring. The 0-5 serves as the worst road start in the NCAA era. 

HOME SWEET HOME
Without owning a victory on the road in 2016-17, Black Hills State has found success on its home court with a 5-3 record in the Donald E. Young Center. The home hardwood advantage extends to more than victories with BHSU averaging 71.5 points per game in the Young Center with a +10.1 scoring margin. On the road, that is flipped to 49.5 points per game and a -23.5 scoring margin. 

DEFENSE, DEFENSE & DEFENSE
Black Hills State ranks highly in the nation in three defensive categories including 3-point field goal percentage defense. The Yellow Jackets rank ninth in the nation and lead the RMAC allowing just 28.2 3-point baskets to be made. The Green and Gold rank 16th in scoring defense and 21st in field goal percentage defense. The 65.3 points per game the Yellow Jackets give up is second in the RMAC while the 39.5 percent of made field goals allowed leads the league. 

HOLD DEFENSE TO LESS THAN 60 POINTS, GET WIN
Black Hills State has had a few trends in their five victories in 2016-17, with one of them being keeping the opponent under 60 points. Four of the five wins have come after BHSU held the opponents under 60 points, including the upset of No. 18 Colorado Mines. One outlier that exists is the 57-56 loss to Regis on December 16. 

1,000-POINT WATCH
Although he won't join the Yellow Jacket 1,000-point club until he reaches the milestone in a Yellow Jacket uniform, Zach McLemore has a chance to reach 1,000 post high school points as he tallied 787 points at Colorado Christian, including 441 points as a sophomore. Through 12 games with BHSU, McLemore has tallied a career total of 938 points.
