WBB: Roadrunners Offense Too Much for Yellow Jackets

DENVER, Colo. – Despite a double-digit effort by Kassidy Scott and Rachel Erickson, the Black Hills State University women's basketball team fell 62-55 to the MSU Denver Roadrunners on Saturday evening.

The Yellow Jackets came out getting the first points on the board from a layup by Erickson. From there, the Roadrunners went on a 7-0 run to lead BHSU 7-2 in the first few minutes of the opening quarter.

The Yellow Jackets trailed by 21 points coming into the second half. They finally found their momentum in the final minutes of the game as BH closed the lead but it was not enough to come out with the victory.

Scott led the way for the Yellow Jackets scoring a career-high 17 points while Erickson scored a season-high 15 points. Scott went 5-for-9 from the field and 3-for-3 from the three-point range.

Defensively, Taylor Trohkimoinen and Scott led the way with six rebounds apiece.

The Green and Gold fall to 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in conference play while MSU Denver improves to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in conference.

The Yellow Jackets return home to the Young Center to host Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opponents Colorado Mines and Colorado Christian Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10, respectively. Tipoff on Friday is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.
