KINGSVILLE, TEX.—The Black Hills State University softball team entered day two of their Texas trip with an opportunity gain revenge on Texas A&M-Kingsville after falling to them 3-2 yesterday afternoon. Game two pitted BHSU against Texas A&M-Commerce, another Lone Star Conference member.

The Javalinas touched the Yellow Jackets up for a pair of runs in the first inning. Lindsey Angelico set the tone with an infield single and stolen base. This set up Victoria Schoonard's RBI-single to give Texas A&M-Kingsville a 1-0 lead.

Back-to-back walks from Roxy Chapa and Rachael Longoria put runners on first and second for Corinne Brassell, who capitalized on a BHSU throwing error. This plated Chapa to extend the Javalina lead to 2-0.

The Yellow Jackets found the scoreboard in the second inning when Witman singled, and stole second. Pinch runner Alex Menke finished the job when she touched home plate on Pamela Sakuma's single to narrow the BHSU deficit to 2-1.

Chapa's two-run home run highlighted a Texas A&M-Kingsville four-run second inning that gave them a 6-1 lead. This provoked BHSU coach Lane Leedy swap in Savanah Eckhardt on the pitching rubber.
