Game One: Black Hills State 5 CSU-Pueblo 2

The Thunderwolves grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, but those would be the only runs scored on the afternoon for the visitors as the Yellow Jackets fought back for three runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Lesniak hit a leadoff double, with Alex Menke pinch running, Stefanie Witman hit a sacrifice bunt to scoot Menke over to third. Curry then singled up the middle to score Menke. Two batters later, Kelsea Nash smashed a home run over the left field fence for the two-run home run and a 3-2 Yellow Jacket lead.

Black Hills State then tacked on a run in both the fifth and sixth innings, for the 5-2 victory. In the fifth, Alex Wiley scored, thanks to a Katie Campo single, then in the sixth Wiley singled in Curry.

Witman pitched the complete-game four-hitter, giving up just two runs for her first victory in the circle this season. Hope Davalos was charged with the loss, giving up eight Yellow Jacket hits and five earned runs.

Game Two: Black Hills State 8 CSU-Pueblo 0

Game two was all Yellow Jackets, thanks to 10 hits, and taking advantage of a pair of Thunderwolves errors.

Curry tallied five RBI on two hits, led by a three-run homerun in the bottom of the first, for the early 3-0 lead.

The middle frames for both teams were scoreless, as each team scattered a few hits but to no avail for scoring.

The bottom of the fifth, the Yellow Jackets pounded in five runs, on three hits and took advantage of two CSUP errors.

With the bases loaded, Lesniak singled, scoring Wiley and Claire Fergusson. The very next batter, Curry, doubled into right-center field scoring Menke and Campo and the 7-0 lead. The Yellow Jackets then won when Nash hit a dribbler to the second basemen, who then threw home to try and get Curry at the plate. However, the throw was late and Curry's plated run gave the Yellow Jackets the 8-0, five inning victory.

Carlee Beck took the winning decision in the circle, giving up five hits and no runs, for the first shutout on the season. Shannon Lieber took the loss, giving up nine hits and seven runs (five earned) over four innings of work.
