SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University softball team heads on the road for the final weekend of the regular season, looking to make the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament for the first time. The Yellow Jackets play University of Colorado Colorado Springs in pair of doubleheaders on Saturday, April 28, and Sunday, April 29. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for noon.

Scouting the Mountain Lions (23-25, 18-18 RMAC)
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs most recently won three of four games against New Mexico Highlands. In its last four RMAC series, UCCS has lost two games.

The Mountain Lions are hitting .303 as a team, led by Whitney Weber, who is batting .406. Four other players are hitting above .300, including Taylor Reidhead (.316), who has a team-high 10 home runs. Lexi Belligan (.338) has a squad-high 42 runs batted in and 13 doubles. Eleven different players have hit dingers for the Mountain Lions.  

The UCCS pitching staff has a combined 6.01 earned run average. Reidhead (11-7) has a team-best 3.75 ERA, striking out 99 batters in 123.1 innings pitched. Cami Duffey (10-13) has a 6.32 earned run average. She has struck out 48 batters in 120.2 IP.

The Mountain Lions are currently in sixth place in RMAC standings.

The Last Time Out
The Yellow Jackets (9-27, 9-19 RMAC) were swept by Regis last weekend. The first three games were run-rule victories for the Rangers. The final game of the series was a pitchers' duel, which RU took, 2-1.

Maddie London recorded the lone RBI for the Yellow Jackets over the weekend.

Jacket Leaders
Katelyn Odle leads the Green and Gold with a .356 batting average and 11 doubles. Maddi Fidler (.355) has a squad-leading eight homers and 22 runs batted in. Kindall Bethke (.291) has six home runs over the season.

Alex Wiley (4-10) has a 4.00 earned run average, throwing eight complete games. She has struck out 30 batters in 85.2 innings pitched. Melissa Gellermann (5-13) has struck out 97 in 118.0 innings, holding a 5.52 ERA.
