SPEARFISH, S.D. – Makaleb McInnis' 20 points were not enough, as the Black Hills State University men's basketball team fell to Regis University, 80-65, on Saturday evening.

McInnis led the Yellow Jackets (7-6, 6-3 RMAC), as he tied his season-high with 20 points, making five three-pointers. Fraser Malcolm added nine points, while Stefan Desnica had six points and four assists.

Patrick Mendes opened the scoring for the Yellow Jackets, making a jumper on the opening possession. However, after trading buckets, a layup by Christian Little put the Rangers (10-5, 7-2 RMAC) up, 11-9, with 15:41 to play in the first half. RU would push their lead out to 17 at the half, 43-26. Jarrett Brodbeck was 5-for-6 from beyond the arc in the first 20 minutes to pace the visitors.

Brodbeck immediately hit his sixth trey to open the second half, and the Rangers would not look back. The Yellow Jackets were able to draw with 12 with just under 12 minutes to play, but a 15-2 RU run pushed the visitors' lead to a game-high 25 points. Regis ultimately won by 15, 80-65, as the Green and Gold fell for the third consecutive game.
