SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's basketball team gears up to take on Chadron State and MSU Denver to close out the four game homestand, on February 1 and 2. The Yellow Jackets will face the Eagles on Friday at 5:30 p.m., before playing the Roadrunners at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
THE GAME – Chadron State College Eagles
» The Yellow Jackets and Eagles meet for the first time on the hardwood when they play this weekend. Last season, the Green and Gold swept Chadron State in conference play, defeating the Eagles, 65-46, and, 66-54.
» Chadron State moved to a 4-15 overall record (2-9 RMAC), after defeating Colorado School of Mines, 76-73, to snap a five-game losing streak.
» The Eagles have two players averaging double-figure scoring, led by Taryn Foxen with 11.9 points per game which ranks her 14th in the RMAC. Jessica Lovitt brings down 5.0 rebounds per game to lead Chadron State. As a team, the Eagles average 2.5 blocks per game which is eighth in the conference.
THE GAME – MSU Denver Roadrunners
» BHSU and MSU Denver meet on the court for the first time when they play this weekend. Last season, the Yellow Jackets defeated the Roadrunners twice in the regular season, and also in the RMAC Semifinal game to move on to play CSU-Pueblo in the championship game.
» MSU Denver has a 9-10 overall record (8-5 RMAC), with a four-game winning streak after defeating UCCS, 60-56. The Roadrunners are tied fourth in the conference standings, alongside Western.
» Jaelynn Smith leads the Roadrunners, averaging 16.2 ppg, which is third in the conference. Emily Hartegan ranks second in the RMAC with 8.3 rpg. As a team, MSU Denver allows just 59.7 points per game this year, to rank sixth in the RMAC.

Mark Nore enters his 17th season with the Yellow Jackets and owns a 297-189 record. He is the all-time wins leader for the Yellow Jacket basketball team.
» Janet Raymer begins her third season as the women's basketball head coach at Chadron State. Raymer has been a part of the program for four years, along with two years as an assistant coach.
» Tanya Haave is in her ninth seaon as the head coach of MSU Denver. Haave is a three-time RMAC coach of the year and is the second most winningest coach with a 158-80 record. Under Haave, the Roadrunners made an appearance in the NCAA Divison II national tournament in 2017-18.

Black Hills State has a 11-6 overall record (7-6 RMAC), after defeating New Mexico Highlands, 83-64, before falling to CSU-Pueblo, 68-58.
In the Yellow Jackets victory over the Cowgirls,
Morgan Koepsell led the way with her first career double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Three Yellow Jackets had double-figure scoring in the Saturday's loss against the Thunderwolves.
Morgan Ham led the Green and Gold with 15 points, followed by
Racquel Wientjes (11) and
Julia Seamans (10).

Julia Seamans has averaged 3.3 assists per game this season. That totals for ninth in the conference. The senior's assist to turnover ratio of 1.4 is fourth in the RMAC, and 111th in the nation.
KNOCK IT DOWN
Seamans is making 2.4 three-pointers a game to lead the Yellow Jackets, which is seventh in the conference, and 69th nationally.
PULL IT DOWN
Katie Messler leads the Yellow Jackets, averaging 6.7 rebounds per game, which is 13th in the RMAC.
TEXAS HOLD'EM
The Yellow Jackets are allowing just 62.0 points per game this year. That ranks eighth in the RMAC, and 79th nationally.
ACCURACY WINS
BHSU is fifth in the conference and 164th nationally in field goal percentage, making 41.3 percent of its shots from the field.
NOW BOARDING
BHSU totaled a season high 17 offensive rebounds against Colorado Christian. The Yellow Jackets were two boards away from tying their season high 44 rebounds, in the matchup against the Cougars.
NOT TODAY
The Yellow Jackets tallied a season high seven blocks against Regis, on Jan. 12. The Green and Gold now stand in ninth in the conference with 2.5 blocks per game.
WEEKEND SWEEP
The Yellow Jackets men's and women's basketball teams went 4-0 against Adams State and Fort Lewis on the road December 16-17. This was the first time since BHSU joined the RMAC (2012-13) that the two teams swept a weekend on the road. The Green and Gold are a combined 11-3 in league play during the 2018-19 season.
