Spearfish, SD –  The Black Hills State University men's basketball team wraps up December play this Friday against non-conference foe Dickinson State. Tip off is at 6:00pm in the Donald Young Center. There will be no admission charge for this Friday nights game. Instead, Yellow Jacket Athletics will be accepting non-perishable food donations from those who are able to donate. The food pantry has asked for Cereals, Quick Oatmeal, Sliced Bread, Spaghetti Sauce, Applesauce In A Jar, Canned Pasta, and Chef-Boy-R-Dee
 
Heading into Friday night, the Yellow Jackets are fifth in the RMAC at 3-2 in conference play and 5-5 overall. They currently have the fourth best defense in the RMAC allowing only 71.6 points a game. They couple that with the second-best shooting percentage from the field (50 percent). Joel Scott leads the offense averaging 17.4 points per game which is tied for seventh best in the league. He is most accurate from the field making 60 percent of his two pointers. That number is the second best in the RMAC this year.
 
Tyler Oliver, this weeks RMAC defensive player of the week, continues to have a huge impact. He is second in the RMAC in overall rebounds, pulling down 8.8 boards a game. He leads the league in defensive boards averaging eight a game. Oliver is also third in the RMAC with 5.1 assists per game.
 
The Dickinson State University Blue Hawks are 3-9 on the season and 1-0 in the North Star Conference. The two teams haven't matched up since 2012 when the Yellow Jackets won 75-65 in Dickinson. The Blue Hawks are currently averaging 79 points a game. They are led by Donte Walker who is posting 14 points a game.
 
The Green and Gold Will return from break in double header action on January third. That Friday they host Western Colorado University and double back Saturday night to host Colorado Mesa.
