Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

MBB: #16 Trailblazers too much for the Yellow Jackets

ST. GEORGE, UT – A hot Dixie State couldn't be contained as they rolled past the Black Hills State University men's basketball team 76-54. The #16 Trailblazers remain undefeated while the Yellow Jackets fall to 3-5 and 1-2 in the RMAC.

The first half of the game was slow and defensive. At half, Dixie State only had a slight advantage 28-21. Offense's heated up the second half, and while BHSU put up 33 points, it was no match for the Trailblazers 48.

The Yellow Jackets made just 19 of 49 shots from the field, 7 of 24 from beyond the arc, and, faltering from the norm, only hit 60 percent of their free throws. The team pulled down 26 rebounds, 22 of them defensive.

Tyler Oliver had a balanced night, leading the team with 15 points and 7 rebounds. He was good for three three-pointers on six attempts for the night. Joel Scott and Stefan Desnica both posted double digit point with 13 and 10 respectively. The bench only put up 10 points tonight.

The Green and Gold return home next weekend kicking off a long homestand. They take on Adams State, Friday the 13th at 7:30pm and follow up against Fort Lewis on the Saturday at 6:00pm.
