SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University triathlon team is set for the first triathlons of the spring on March 2-3. The team will compete in back-to-back sprint triathlons in Clermont, Florida.
The races begin with a 750-meter open water swim in Lake Louisa, followed by a 20-kilometer draft legal bike, wrapped up by a 5-kilometer run. The Yellow Jackets will compete on both Saturday and Sunday in separate races that follow the same course.
This will be the first triathlon for the Green and Gold since they competed at the NCAA Championships in November. The Yellow Jackets finished third as a team, with sophomore Mathilde Bernard taking third individually. Â
