COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Twelve Black Hills State University women's basketball team members have been named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll, the RMAC announced Thursday afternoon.
Ashlee Beacom, from Sioux Falls, S.D., has a 3.317 GPA as a physical science major. The redshirt freshman averages 3.8 points per game. Keely Bertram, a native of Elk Point, S.D., holds a 3.636 GPA as an elementary education major. She is a member of the Honor Roll for the third consecutive year. After missing a chunk of the season with injury, the senior averages 3.4 ppg and 3.2 rpg.
Morgan Ham, from Shadehill, S.D., has a 3.297 GPA as a mass communications major. The redshirt sophomore leads the team with 14.2 points per game, and also pulls down 4.8 rebounds per game. Alyssia Martinez is from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and majors in business administration management, holding a 3.346 GPA. A redshirt sophomore, she averages 4.5 ppg, having started six games. This is the second consecutive year on the Honor Roll for Martinez.
Katie Messler is from Sioux Falls, S.D., and holds a 3.850 grade point average in biology. The sophomore averages 4.4 points per game, and leads the squad in rebounding, pulling down 6.8 boards per game. Lyndzi Rich, from Worland, Wyoming, has a 3.313 GPA as an education major. The sophomore averages 7.6 ppg and 3.6 rpg.
Julia Seamans, from Gillette, Wyoming, has a 3.575 GPA in math education. The senior averages 10.2 ppg and dishes out 3.1 assists per game. She is on the Honor Roll for the fourth time. Cortez Standing Bear is from Pine Ridge, S.D., and has a 3.943 in biology. The junior won the Summit Award last season, holding the highest GPA of any student-athlete competing in the RMAC Tournament.
Abby Switzer, a native of Casper, Wyoming, holds a 3.753 grade point average as a business administration accounting major, earning a spot on the Honor Roll for the second straight year. The junior scores 1.9 ppg and 1.6 rpg, playing in all 19 games. Remi Wientjes, from Onida, S.D., has a 3.888 GPA in elementary education. The senior was averaging 10.5 ppg and 4.2 rpg before suffering a season-ending injury. This is the four time on the Honor Roll for Wientjes.
Racquel Wientjes is from Onida, S.D., and holds a 3.813 GPA as a business administration economics and finance major. The sophomore averages 9.2 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game. Dylan Wright, from Sheridan, Wyoming, has a 3.408 grade points average in social science education. The redshirt junior has played in eight games this season.
To qualify for the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically, using a year of eligibility, and hold a 3.3 cumulative grade point average.
