SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Stadium Sports Grill Yellow Jacket Golf Classic was held on June 29 at the Spearfish Canyon Country Club. The fundraiser benefited student-athlete scholarships at Black Hills State University.
The annual fundraiser, which is open to the public, included an 18-hole scramble tournament with plenty of prizes, including a hole-in-one shootout for a new pickup courtesy of White's Queen City Motors. A brunch was served prior to the tournament and awards were at the conclusion of the event.
"We had an excellent turnout again this year. There were a lot of familiar faces, plus some new ones who were back attending the BHSU All School Reunion. We are extremely grateful for the support that is given to all our Yellow Jacket events. We would not have the success we do without it.  We sincerely appreciate the Stadium Sports Grill for sponsoring this tournament, as well as the many other businesses and individuals who contributed to hole prizes and our Hole-In-One contest," said Assistant Director of External Operations Melissa Christensen.
The playing field consisted of 28 teams. In the men's division, the first place win went to the foursome of Steve Meeker, Jim Knutson, Doug Graslie, and Scott Graslie with a score of 60. The mixed gender team of Seth Mischke, Colleen Mischke, Anne Langdell, and Justin Feeser took first place in their division, shooting a respectable 63. The senior division was won by Howard Perry, Bill Jones, Bill Jordan, and Doug Stanford with a score of 67.
The final Yellow Jacket golf tournament scholarship fundraisers will be Sutton Bay, held August 12-14, and Devils Tower on August 16.  For more information, contact the BHSU Athletic Department at 605-642-6460. Go Jackets!
