HOT SPRINGS, S.D. – The Black Hills State University triathlon team swept the women's podium at the Southern Hills Triathlon to open the 2019 season on Saturday morning.
Freshman Myna Buckley and sophomore Chelsea Basford took first and second overall in the sprint distance triathlon, beating out top male competitors. Freshman Hannah Hirschi was the third woman to finish to compete the Yellow Jacket sweep of the women's podium.
In the female duathlon sprint event, junior Mathilde Bernard was first. Meanwhile, Kennedy Teeslink completed the swim and bike portion for the winning team of the female sprint relay division with Raquel Kopeck completing the run portion.
